Buy what you love
Markets move. Passion does not. Every serious collector we know started by buying bottles they genuinely wanted to drink.
Store bottles upright
Unlike wine, whisky must stand upright. High-strength spirit degrades cork over time. Keep bottles between 15-20°C, out of direct sunlight.
Provenance is everything
Keep receipts, outer cartons, authentication cards and any distillery paperwork. At resale, a documented chain of custody can add double digits to a hammer price.
Track your cellar
Photograph fill levels annually. A dropping fill level indicates a failing cork or seal and dramatically affects value.
